Why you should consider small batch sustainable farmers versus grocery store coffee

Your average store-bought coffee might come from large-scale farms that prioritize quantity over quality. Aardvark Coffee Company is all about quality over quantity.

Our beans are sourced from small, local farmers who use sustainable coffee farming practices to ensure the health of both the land and the community.

What is sustainably-grown coffee?

In layman's terms, sustainable coffee farming is like doing yoga for the land. Our farmers search for that perfect balance between giving and taking. Instead of relying on harmful pesticides and chemicals, our farmers use natural methods to protect their crops, like planting shade trees to provide habitat for birds that eat coffee pests.

Our Geisha variety: deliciously sustainable

And speaking of eco-friendly, let's talk about Geisha coffee – the crown jewel of Colombian coffee. Geisha coffee isn't your average Joe (pun intended). It's like the fancy-pants, top-shelf option that'll make you feel like royalty with every sip.

Grown at high altitudes in the mountains of Colombia, coffee connosieurs prize Geisha coffee beans for their delicate flavor profiles and floral aromas. But Geisha coffee is also incredibly sustainable.

Does sustainability really make a difference? YES. On the Puerto Arturo farm, our farmer Elkin achieves remarkable results with Geisha coffee, scoring between 89 and 90 points.

Elkin's Geisha variety has exceptional flavor from the farm’s unique terroir.  Collaborating with the community and the Támesis water company, Elkin uses the natural spring water to sustainably grow the coffee without depleting water sources.

So, the next time you reach for that cup of morning joe, why not make it a sustainable coffee choice?

Let's conquer the good in our day and brew some good in the planet.
